International Yoga Day 2017: June 21 is celebrated as International Yoga Day all over the world. Yoga is mainly initiated in India. Yoga is physical, Mental and spiritual practice followed in India. An international day for yoga was declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 11 December 2014. Later PM Modi suggested that the date of 21 June to be celebrated as International Yoga Day, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares special significance in many parts of the world.
PM Modi about International Yoga Day: Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies the unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well-being.
Today, PM Modi celebrating International Yoga Day on Lucknow Ramabai Ambedkar ground by performing Yoga along with Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. The Governor and Ministers of Uttar Pradesh also joined them to celebrate this day. About 72,000 people and students participated this Yoga Day celebration in the Ground at Lucknow.
Many schools and colleges also celebrate this Yoga Day on their schools and colleges. Some institutions may conduct a camp for the public and they teach them how to do Yoga, what are the things that are to be done before and after yoga. The organisers of the camp also tell the public about benefits and healthiness of Yoga. They advise them to perform yoga daily to make them strong and to live a healthy life.
Following things should not do Before Yoga
Do not drink Coffee: Caffeine in the coffee increase the stress reaction in the body which leads the person not to focus on meditation. Hence it is advisable not to take coffee before meditation.
Do not eat: Doing Yoga after eating is not beneficial and the efforts would be useless as the person feels lethargic after eating. Hence it is advisable not to eat before doing Yoga.
Do not Shower: Showering before or after Yoga is not good as it fades away the essential energy from the body. It also changes the body temperature and blood circulation in the body. Hence do not take shower before doing Yoga. You can take shower one hour after performing Yoga.
Happy International Yoga Day to all. I wish all of them to do at least minimum Yogasanas daily to keep yourself controlled, meditated and to lead a happy, and healthy life.
