World Emoji Day 2017: World emoji day is declared as an unofficial holiday since 2014. It is a day global celebration of emoji and is primarily celebrated online. Most of the companies such as Pepsi, Coco cola, Google, Electricals releases many emojis on this world emoji day. The very first emoji came about in the late 1990s when Shigetaku Kurita, a young engineer at the Japanese phone company NTT Docomo, worked on a series of icons that subscribers could use to quickly read information on the first mobile web services and to communicate with each other.
The set of 176 icons is called emoji. In Japanese language, emoji is meant for e-picture and moji-character. In recent years people mostly use emojis instead of word n their texts or while communicating with other persons. Hence in honour to emoji which influences our lives, July 17 is declared as World Emoji Day.
The most commonly used emoji in twitter, facebook and WhatsApp are ‘laugh cry’ emoji and the second most emoji is ‘heart eyes’. The 2017 World Emoji Day Awards are open. People can vote for their favourite emoji to determine the winner. Winners will be announced from New York Stock Exchange and Streaming live on 3:40 PM on this day.
